Better Sundays Make Better Families

“If you … call the Sabbath a delight, the holy day of the LORD honorable, and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; and I will cause you to ride on the high hills …” Is. 58:13,14

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Sunday can be the best day of the week and the benefits are enormous!

Train up a child in the way he should go: like a compass pointing north … an object in motion tending to stay in motion … & a family dynasty …

Seven practices to make ‘better families’:

Put God first in your own life: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness …” Matthew 6:33

Resurrect daily devotions: Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding; for I give you good doctrine; do not forsake my law. When I was my father’s son, tender and the only one in the sight of my mother, he also taught me … Proverbs 4:1-5

Apply the Bible to your daily life – & talk about it!: “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart; you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk in the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. …” Deut. 6:6-9

Let your children see your spending habits – including tithing. And train them to tithe, too: “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much …” Luke 16:10“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse …” Malachi 3:10Hebrews 7:9,10

Participate and serve in the church together: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together …Heb. 10:25 … including teen ministry right through high school!

Participate in mission trips … Faithwalkers Conferences … & HSLT (high school life training – parents included): “Go therefore and make disciples …” Mt. 28:19

Pray for them – Pray without ceasing. I Thess. 5:17 … & ‘infuse’ them with the Bible: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly … Col. 3:16 …

For our precious children, there is nothing more important for them than to love God & follow Him in the company of believers.

“… those who honor Me I will honor …” I Samuel 2:30
