Passage: Luke 1:26-38

Mary , an unlikely Hero

The lineage of Jesus includes a league of unlikely female hero’s: Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, Mary

“Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be.
                                                                                            Luke 1:28-29

1. )   Mary received God’s favor.

34 And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” 35 And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.                                              Luke 1:34-35

2.) Mary had good character.

38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”         Luke 1:38

3. ) Mary chose to trust God.

Have you felt ordinary?  Have you been rejected (perhaps, despite your best efforts to cultivate godly character)?  Have you been uncertain about God’s plan for your future?

You can join the league of unlikely heroes too!
