Passage: Hebrews 10:1-25
Heroes Series – “The Real Super Hero!
Hero: “A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life”
Feats of Sonofman
Vs 1-9: “because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me;”
Sonofman: Takes all my sin(s) upon Himself!
- 1Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”
Vs 10: “And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
Sonofman: Makes me holy in the sight of God!
- Only standard God will accept for entrance into His eternal kingdom.
- 1Peter 1:15-16 “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."
Vs 14: “because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.”
Sonofman: Makes me perfect before our God!
- Without blemish; spot, stain; Ephesians 5:27 “to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.”
Vs 17: Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more." And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin.
Sonofman: Erases all evidence and memory of my sins!
- Gone forever Psalm 103:12“as far as the east is from the west, so far he has removed our transgressions from us”
Vs 22: “let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience…”
Sonofman: Cleanses me forever from a guilty conscience!
- Romans 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,”
Vs 24: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”
Sonofman: Has made me a super hero in this world!
- Proverbs 24:11 “Rescue those being led away to death, hold back those staggering toward slaughter”
Be a superhero today to someone in your life – it’s your destiny!
