What Christmas Reveals About God - Part 3

What Christmas reveals about God:

And all went to be registered, each to his own town. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called

Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. Luke 2:3-5

1.) God doesn’t _______________________________________________.

  • Isaiah 55:8-9 – “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth.  Luke 2:6

2.)   God doesn’t ________________________________________________.

  • John 1:1,14 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…”

“He was created in the womb of one whom He created!” Augustine

“Nothing in Fiction as so fantastic as this: the incarnation.” J.I. Packer

  • Mary, Did You Know? by Mark Lowry

- That your baby boy… Would one day walk on water?   Is Lord of all creation? Would one day rule the nations? Is the Great, I Am?

- That this child you delivered will soon deliver you?

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. Luke 2:7

3.)   God is __________________________________________________.

  • Hebrews 4:15-16 who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
