Passage: Colossians 3:12-17
I Live by Faith - Part 2
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20
Living by Faith looks like:
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
- A team wearing the right uniform – they represent.
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:13-15
- A team that is unified – devoted to each other, bound together by love.
- Romans 12:1 – The problem with a living sacrifice…
- Gal. 5:6b - the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
- Romans 12:10 – “devoted to one another”
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16
- A team with a playbook – ingrained with a winning strategy.
- Joshua 1:8 – “meditate on it day and night”
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
- A team that lives it on game day – “In the name of the Lord Jesus.”
- Living like Jesus would sign His name to it!
Only two ways of life, for every person on the planet!:
- Live by self. In Self-power. For self glory. On your own team. In your own name.
- Live by faith. In Christ's power. For His glory. On His team. In Christ’s name.
Which life do we want? The choice is ours!
