Passage: Matthew 16:18-19
My Church – God’s Fulfillment
“Choices, Decisions, Commitment” Acts 1:1-8 (Matthew 16:18-19)
Psalm 37:5 “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:”
Acts 1:4 “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.”
Two Best Remedies for Waiting (on God)
- Keep Busy: “Do what you always do” – serve
- Prepare: Make preparations for whatever (you’re waiting for) is coming.
Genesis 2:16-17 God presents the opportunity to choose. AKA: ‘free will’
- Free will is nothing more than the decision to accept or reject, to o___________ or d______________ God’s word.
- If I had no choice there could be no decision. Jeremiah 6:16
Luke 9:23 “Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
- The greatest decision we can ever make is to be a f____________ of Jesus Christ.
- Truth: The best leaders are nothing more than the best followers. 1Cor 11:1
The Great Commitments:
Vs 1: “All Jesus began to do and teach…until the day he was taken up”
- Jesus began something but he’s looking for f___________. Matt 28:18-20
- The greatest commitment we can ever make is to Jesus Christ and His c_________.
Vs 8: “You will receive power... and you will be my witnesses…”
- The great question, what is my understanding of will?
- Psalm 37:4-5 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.”
- The greatest commitment we can ever make is to Jesus Christ and His c________________.
Where does God want to take you?
What is God waiting to do through you?
What does God have in store for you?
We only find out when we commit to follow
and commit to finish the work of Jesus Christ.
