Passage: Luke 6:32-36
Poured Out – part 1
Theme Verse:
But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. Phil. 2:17 (NIV84)
The “Poured Out” life of Jesus:
32 “If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. Luke 6:32
1.) Jesus poured out love on those who didn’t love him!
33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. Luke 6:33
2.) Jesus poured out good on those who did nothing but bad to him.
34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. Luke 6:34
3.) Jesus poured out help on those who would never, nor could ever pay him back.
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Luke 6:35
4.) Jesus poured out kindness on the ungrateful AND the evil!
- “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
36 Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. Luke 6:36
5.) Jesus poured out mercy, as only God pour out mercy in full!
Jesus “Poured Out” ALL for us.
What is our response to Him?
