Passage: Genesis 1:26-28
Mother’s Day 2018
Genesis 1:26-28 “The Grand Design – Wo-mom”
Proverbs 31:28 “Her children rise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:”
Two Paramount Understandings of Genesis 1:26-28
#1 God is a God of order. 1Corinthians 14:32-33 “The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace…”
#2 God is a God of purpose. “Then God said, let us make man in our image…”
- Grand Plan of God.
- Grand Design of God.
- Grand Pattern of God.
The Grand Design:
Genesis 2:7 “The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground…”
Genesis 2:18 “The Lord God said, “it is not good for the man to be alone, I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Genesis 2:19 “Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals…”
Genesis 2:22 “Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib…”
- Why? The greatest attribute of a leader is h__________ . Philippians 2:3-8
Her Grand Design: God’s final seal of approval is her.
- With equal identity: a child of God – 1Peter 3:7
- With equal value: a woman of God – his recognition of her creative process.
- With equal responsibility: as a woman, wife, and mother to live by the pattern.
Her Grand Pattern:
- She d__________ in her role as a woman, wife, and mom. Psalm 127:3
- She d__________ the character of her children to know wisdom – to
know God. Proverbs 22:6
- She d __________ the hearts of her children to know and follow Christ.
Deuteronomy 6:7
- She d___________ her children unto godliness. Proverbs 19:18
There is but one conclusion that of God’s, she (woman, wife, and mother) is to be valued, honored, and praised.
“Her children rise and call her blessed; her husband also, he praises her.”
