Passage: Matthew 6:19-24
The Treasure Principle
Randy Alcorn: “You can’t take it with you, but you can send it on ahead.”
I will experience joy-filled giving when I believe that:
“Don’t store up for yourselves treasures on earth…” Matthew 6:19 (CSB)
1.) God owns everything and I’m his __________________________________.
- Psalm 24:1- The world and everything in it…belong to the LORD!
20 But store up for yourselves treasures in Heaven…” Matthew 6:20 (CSB)
2.) Heaven, not this present earth, is __________________________________.
- “According to Jesus, storing up earthly treasures isn’t simply wrong. It’s just plain stupid.” Randy Alcorn.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21 (CSB)
3.) My heart ALWAYS goes where I put _______________________________.
“If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. Matthew 6:22 (CSB)
4.) Spiritual health requires living IN my present, while living FOR :
______________________________________.
23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. Matthew 6:23 (CSB)
5.) Giving breaks the deadly grip of _____________________________on my life.
- 1 Tim. 6:17-19 – Instruct those who are rich…to be generous...
24 “You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24 (CSB)
6.) God entrusts me with money to raise __________________________________, not my standard of living.
- 2 Cor. 9:11 – You will be made rich...so...you can be generous on every occasion!
How will you trust God with the Treasure Principle this year?
