Passage: Romans 1:16-22
Trump Cards:
The Questions We Hope We are Never Asked! - Part 2
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15
Principles to remember when answering hard questions:
- Don’t let go of what you DO KNOW, because of something you DON’T KNOW.
- Preparing means work.
- Listen for ‘questions behind the questions’ that are being asked.
- Your tone and attitude in the answer is vitally important.
- Hard questions are HARD. Don’t disrespect them as though they are easy.
17 As it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him… Romans 1:16-23
2.) What happens to people that never hear about Jesus?
- Is it fair for people to not hear of Jesus and yet be condemned to hell?
- What actually sends people to hell?
- Can our choices, as Christians, have eternal consequences for others?
- What does the Bible clearly teach about what happens to people who never come to faith in Jesus?
- How much revelation will a good and loving God reveal?
What are the questions behind the questions:
A Gospel sowing opportunity:
What are you doing with the revelation God has given you?
