Passage: Luke 10:1-24
“Why Give My Life to the Gospel” Luke 10:1-24
A few of the perils we face when we give our lives to the Gospel:
- Luke 10:3 “Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.”
- Luke 10:10 “But when you enter a town and are not welcomed”
- Luke 10:16 “he who rejects you rejects me…”
Why Give My Life to the Gospel (Contend)
Vs 1: “After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two…”
1: Partnering in the Gospel will bring you the deepest relationships in life.
- To commune with the Almighty and more… Philippians 2:1-2
- This is the essence of life. John 15:13 “to love and be loved unconditionally”
Vs 2: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
2: Partnering in the Gospel will bring you the greatest purpose in life.
- The greatest and truest meaning of life – God’s glory John 17:4
- To partner with God in redeeming a human life. one man’s example - pic
Vs 18-19: “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
3: Partnering in the Gospel will bring you God’s untold power for living.
- To experience God’s power we need to expose ourselves to a need for it. 2Cor 4:7-9
- Which means we are put in harm’s way to realize it. 2Corinthians 12:9
Vs 17 & 20: “The seventy-two returned with joy and said…However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
4: Partnering in the Gospel will bring you the deepest joy in life.
- Untold Joy____________________: Psalm 126:3
- Acts 13:52 “And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
Vs 21-22 “At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children…."
5: Partnering in the Gospel will bring you an ever deepening knowledge of God.
- What God desires more than anything else? To Know Him! Jeremiah 24:7
- Deuteronomy 29:29 God awaits to reveal Himself.
Vs 23-24: “Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see...”
6: Partnering in the Gospel will bring you the greatest blessings of God.
- God’s only choice: to honor the principle of reaping and sowing. Deuteronomy 28:1-2 “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands… All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:
The more we give our lives to the Gospel, the more we experience the fullness of God. Col 2;9
