Passage: Exodus 20:8-11
Exodus 20:8“Remeber the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.”
Why I Love Sundays Exodus 20:8-11
- Vs 8: “Remember the Sabbath by keeping it holy.”
God created the Sabbath to ________________ me, my life is in Him.
- Deuteronomy 4:9 “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live.”
- Sabbath: ‘means rest’ Vs 10: “but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the
Lord your God.”
- ‘Rest unto God’ – He is the Power Source and Power Supply for life!
Sunday is a sacred day to remind me to connect with God.
- Vs 8: “Remember the Sabbath by keeping it holy.”
God created the Sabbath to ________________ me to a holy life.
- Genesis 2:3 “And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because
on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”
- Holy means sacred – a day set apart unto God to renew me to a holy
life.
- 1Peter 1:15-16 “but just as He has who called you is holy so be holy in
all you do for it is written be holy for I am holy”
Sunday is a sacred day to remind me to commune with God.
- Vs 11: “but he rested on the seventh day”
God created the Sabbath to ________________ my life in Him.
- Mark 2:27 “Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not
man for the Sabbath.”
- Exercise: “The Sabbath was made for _________!”
- Jesus: When God was ordering the world – He wanted it ordered around
a relationship with Him!
- John 13:15 “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done
for you.”
Sunday is a sacred day to remind me I live in community with God.
To order my life upon the Sabbath is to order my life with the blessings of God.
